Job perspectives for mathematicians – Graduate Academy promotes self-organised events by doctoral candidates

What can you become when having studied mathematics or having done a doctorate in mathematics? Three mathematicians talk about this at the event "Mathematik … und dann?" ("Mathematics … and then?") on 10 November at the auditorium "Zur Rosen". The following people will be presenting: Dipl.-Math. Therese Klarner of the Fraunhofer-Institut für Optronik, Systemtechnik und Bildauswertung (Ilmenau), Dr. Torsten Köhler of the Weier-straß-Institut für Angewandte Analysis und Stochastik (Berlin) and Dr. Jörg Lehnert of the Max-Planck-Institut für Mathematik in den Naturwissenschaften (Leipzig). The event is being organised by three doctoral candidates of mathematics.

The event is supported by the Graudate Academy of Friedrich Schiller University Jena. Grad-uate Academy promotes self-organised events by doctoral candidates with a special pro-gramme for the development of individual initiatives. By means of this programme interdis-ciplinary publications and work groups can also be supported financially.

The event will take place at the auditorium of the house "Zur Rosen" on 10 November as from 6 p.m. All of those interested are cordially invited.
