Schillertag (Schiller Day) and Graduation Ceremony

The graduation ceremony and presentation of doctoral diplomas takes place once a year, on Schillertag. Schillertag is the academic holiday of the FSU and its community of friends and supporters. It is in honor of the inaugural lecture of the namesake of the university and is followed by the Sommerfest.

Schillertag is where doctoral and habilitation prizes are awarded and where all doctoral candidates are honoured who completed their doctoral degrees at FSU in the previous year. All finished doctorates will also be included in a yearbook. Doctorates who participate in this event receive this yearbook along with their doctoral diploma. Family members and friends, as well as the doctoral commissions, are also welcome to attend.
