"I hope that this project may spread a bit of my interest for my work andallows other people to get some insights into the daily life research."

The research project

Over the last decades the fungal microorganism Candica albicans emerged are one of the most common microbial causes of life-threatening systemic infections and sepsis especially in individuals with compromised immune status due to organ transplatation, chemotherapy, HIV and diabetes mellitus among others. This microorganism is well adapted to the human body as it can persist in blood, mucus and skin, environments that differ greatly in the availability of nutrients. Therefore, we must study the interactions between human and pathogen, like the growth of Candica albicans on different nutrients found in the human body and its implications to infectious processes.
