This seminar provides you with the necessary information to manage the application process particularly on the job market outside academia:

Application Documents: On the first day you will learn how to write your cover letter and CV, and how best to adapt your application to the job offer.
Job-seeking Strategies: Beyond that, you will understand how to target your search for future employment, and where you can look for vacancies. There will also be explanation and practice about the meaning of typical German phrases in job advertisements.
Work Permit: This section gives you a brief overview of the current situation, incl. conditions to get a work permit.
Working Conditions: On the second day you will get to find out everything about the general conditions and legal guidelines when in work, for example the number of holidays you are entitled to, your hours of work, and typical salaries.
Working Culture: To make you fit for your first job, we will discuss the typical German way of working and what will be expected from you, as well as the typical behaviour of your German colleagues.

Preparation: Please bring a hard copy of your updated application documents as well as a relevant job description as an example for your field of interest.
