A stable economy, good salaries and a wide range of interesting jobs attract international specialists to stay and work in Germany. However, the application process is governed by the typical German correctness and formality. To know the requirements and rules is essential for finding a job. This seminar provides you with the necessary information to manage the application process particularly on the job market outside academia.

Contents:

  • Application Documents (I explain to you what an application has to look like, you can rework your application and get feedback
  • Job-seeking Strategies (meaning of typical phrases in job advertisements, how to apply for a job here properly and where to look for
    vacancies)
  • Working Conditions (general conditions and guidelines when in work, as for example number of holidays, hours of work and
    payments)
  • Working Culture (To make you fit for your (first?) job, we discuss the typical German way of working and what will be expected from
you, as well as typical behaviours of your German colleagues)
