Looking back: PhD Day and Three Minute Thesis Finals on 29 January

More than 200 doctoral candidates, postdocs, and interested students came to Rosensäle on 29 January to visit the Graduate Academy's PhD Day. The 13 Lectures at PhD Day provided general and in-detail information about career perspectives within and outside academia, chances and pitfalls of the doctorate, the general academic regulations for dissertations, and financial and familiy topics around the doctoral phase.

On the evening of this year's PhD Day, more than 100 spectators followed passionately the third "Three Minute Thesis" Competition of FSU Jena. The jury selected Anna Juliane Buch of the Institute for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy with her presentation called "How does the brain affect the heart?" as winner of the jury prize. The audience chose Samia Afzal of the Institute of Neurology with her presentation "How the learning brain grows?" as winner of the audience prize.
