Jena doctoral candidate wins East German Science Slam

On November 31, the Jena doctoral candidate, Johannes Kretzschmar, received the first price for the East German Science Slam in Magdeburg. He convinced the audience with a presentation on "Complexity and computability of fashion" and now is qualified for the final German Science Slam on December 6th in Münster with the option to become best Science Slammer of Germany.

The doctoral candidate already won the Science Slam of Friedrich Schiller University at the recent Sommerfest of the Graduate Academy. Kretzschmar is pursuing a PhD in Computer Science on adaptive process optimization. He also leads a Germany-wide, well received comic blog.
