Successful opening „Zur Rosen – house for young researchers“

The ceremonial opening of the newly reconstructed building "Zur Rosen - house for young researchers" in the afternoon of the sunny July 11 attracted more than 400 visitors from near and far. After the official speech, hundreds of guestseds of guests rushed into the yard and building. In the yard, the visitors tasted sparkling wine, beer and bratwurst accompanied by relaxing jazz music., The beer (named "Rosenprivileg") was brewed especially for the reopening by biology students under guidance of the Vice-Rector Erika Kothe . Very popular were the historical tours. - Walking through the building awoke old memories of numerous guests concerning the time before the reconstruction when the house served as university tavern and meeting place.

After the ceremonial handover of the key from the Rector of the university to the Vice-Rector for young researchers and diversity management, the Graduate Academy is now officially situated in the second oldest building of the University. It is named "Zur Rosen - house for young researchers". Besides the service, consulting and study programme of the Graduate Academy, the house offers space for cross-curricular exchange, networking and participation in the Auditorium, Bohlenstube and cafeteria of the Studentenwerk. The Vice-Rector is confident: "Today, as a center for young researchers the house is both rich in tradition as well as trendsetting."

The Graduate Academy is very glad about the successful kick-off. We cordially thank everybody involved in this event. Now we are looking forward to brisk visits of the house for young researchers "Zur Rosen".
