Prof. Erika Kothe elected to the board of directors of UniWiND

RTEmagicC_Foto_Kothe_web_01Prof. Dr. Erika Kothe, Vice-Rector for young researchers and diversity management of the Friedrich-Schiller-University, was elected to the board of directors of the university association for qualification of young researchers in Germany (UniWiND). The election took place on the second conference of UniWiND in Bochum. UniWiND is a union of 28 universities which focuses on substantial support of young researchers. The goal of that union is the development of best practice models for qualification of young researchers during the doctorate as well as the postdoc phase.

Since the founding in 2009, the Graduate Academy of the Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena gets involved with UniWiND. Prof. Dr. Amélie Mummendey, once Vice-Rector for the Graduate Academy, was engaged in the founding of this association and was further active as a member and assistant director. The Graduate Academy especially is commits to the taskforce of UniWiND for the improvement of the support of doctoral candidates and presented a strategic paper of the taskforce named "support concepts" during the conference".

Following the conference, Prof. Dr. Erika Kothe was elected to the board of directors at the UniWiND general meeting. Also Catarina Henke was elected to the UniWiND advisory board. She is doctoral candidate in biology and a member of the founding group of the council for doctoral candidates at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena.
